"After almost 14 years at Tink, it still feels like home"
Since Tink’s 25th anniversary, we’ve been featuring a series of interviews with employees who have grown with us over the past 10, 15, or 20 years in an ever-evolving industry. Today, we meet Julie Versailles, who chose Tink to grow her career over the past 14 years!
"The most important thing in my journey, both during my training and in the positions I’ve held, is the idea of learning to learn. Especially in web development, where everything moves so fast." Julie Versailles completed her training in multimedia integration techniques at Collège de Maisonneuve. After graduating, she continued learning at various companies before joining Tink in 2008.
"After coordinating teams on web projects for a few years, I returned to my first loves when I joined Tink: design and front-end development." As part of the support and evolution team (now digital production), Julie has been involved in everything from design to back-end development, continuously expanding her expertise. She adds, "Most of the time, my job was to investigate and resolve issues found on our clients' websites, and mobilize the team's skills to quickly find solutions, sometimes in languages or frameworks that we didn’t all fully master. But we always succeeded! It was truly rewarding, and I’m still very grateful to Tink for trusting me and giving me the opportunity to work on such a variety of projects. There's no better school!"

The year 2008 was marked by Julie’s arrival at Tink, but also by the economic crisis, which weakened many companies and made the industry cautious about its investments. "It was tough at times, but we made it through: Tink by being careful in its business decisions, and us by taking extra care of our clients." Proof that the challenges faced together, the teams' commitment to projects, and strong client relationships pay off: the clients Julie worked with are still with us over 10 years later.
"With Metro, for example, the relationship was always a virtuous circle, and their teams became like our colleagues! We knew their platforms inside out, and they knew exactly what we were capable of. Mutual trust quickly elevated the business relationship: requests multiplied, starting with support, then moving on to site customization, newsletters that became more complex and important, apps we developed, and more. The pace of updates and incoming projects increased, and our expertise attracted more and more new clients." Thus, while her team could be counted on one hand when she joined, the digital production team now has nearly 30 members.
But Julie took a different path, focusing on interface design and user experience: "After 3 years in support and evolution, I wanted a change. I craved more thoughtfulness in my daily tasks, to slow the pace, and have the time needed to find creative solutions to meet user needs without being in constant urgency." Her developer background turned out to be a real asset within the creative teams: "I’m naturally curious about all web-related jobs, which makes me very versatile. But my primary focus is UX/UI; I have a highly logical mind and love functional design: I can think about integration phases as soon as I propose concepts."

Now an art director and UX/UI designer, Julie thrives on long-term projects where strong working relationships are built with clients. "When you have time to really get to know your clients and their users, that’s when you can anticipate their needs and create value through the experience you build over time." Whether for Desjardins or Fonds de Solidarité FTQ, with whom Julie has worked for 5 years, she finds her passion in creating lasting experiences, not following fleeting trends. "That's also one of the reasons I'm still with Tink today: the company carefully analyzes industry trends and offers clients personalized, long-term solutions, not cookie-cutter projects that need a complete overhaul in 2 or 3 years and don’t really meet their needs. It’s this high standard in deliverables, the expertise of the teams, and the transparency with our clients that I believe is the company’s greatest strength. And after almost 14 years, it still feels like home."
